30 Day Drawing Challenge!

Hello lovely people of the internet!

Sorry I've been a bit absent lately... I have been writing blog posts but I wasn't really happy with any of them so I ended up not posting anything... Oops

Well because it's currently holidays for me, I've been spending a lot of time being creative to keep my mind active and trying my best not to fall into the horrific pit of boredom. So after a night feeling inspired and drawing until 1am, I decided to create a 30 day drawing challenge! There are no rules (ooh exciting!) - just try to draw all of these things. I'll even give you free reign to do these in more than 30 days, but you have to promise to complete all of them eventually! You can also try these in any order and if something doesn't gel with you, feel free to make up your own :)

If you try this I'd love to see some of your drawings! Comment below where I can find you - not your home address though, that would be weird...
Okay I think I'll stop babbling now; i…

Don't be afraid to be you

Hello beautiful internet friends,

I know this is a fairly cliché topic but it's something that I've been thinking about recently. I feel like so many people are worried about fitting in that they change things about them or hide away parts to them that make them who they are.

Using myself as an example - anyone who knows me knows that I love musical theatre, and that's kind of a 'weird' thing to be passionate about. Some people do think that I am strange or curious for liking such a different art form. The thing is, is that it's part of who I am. It's part of my past, my interests, and my dreams, and I don't think I could be (or want to be) close to someone who didn't understand or at least respect that it is a passion of mine.

Take pride in what you love and what you believe in because it's part of what makes you who you are. You're the best version of you in the universe, so be you. I think it's the quirky things that make people most i…

Happiness

Image
Hello internet friends!

The other day I found myself scrolling through pictures on my phone reminiscing about all the things I have done and all the little things that have made me happy. Here are some of those things...

1. Being with horses
I adore horses and everything to do with them. I volunteer at a riding school for children with disabilities and it brings so much happiness. When I have opportunities to ride, it's like being given such a sense of freedom. Feeling a horse's movements and being a part of that is pretty darn special. Most people think this is weird - but even just the smells when walking through the paddock are really comforting to me.

2. Spontaneous road trips
Road tripping with friends as a spur of the moment decision often results in hilarity and delusional laughter. It's times like these that I realise how lucky I am to have these people in my life and that I get to share some amazing experiences with them. Even, actually no - especially if that inclu…

Chasing Dreams

Hello my dear internet friends!

This topic has been on my mind for quite some time so I thought I'd share it with you and hear your thoughts. In short, this topic is: Follow Your Dreams!

I've just been thinking that it is so sad that there are people in this world who don't or can't fulfil their dreams and do what they love. I have a lot of dreams of what I want to do in my lifetime and I am going to try my best to make those things happen. I'm already studying the course that I need to be an Occupational Therapist (which is my ideal career), and I am pursuing my hobby of musical theatre. I am so lucky to have the opportunities that I have had in the past and the ones that may come in the future. Everything happens for a reason and I think we all learn from our past experiences and these experiences shape who we are and may even change our dreams and plans.

It's interesting even just looking back at the past seven years and seeing how my life has changed, the th…

The Fault In Our Stars (TFIOS) ~ John Green

Hello my dear internet friends!

Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while! Uni has been incredibly hectic recently...and it’s only going to get worse from here. It’s late at night and I can’t be bothered going to bed so I thought I’d write a blog post!

I read TFIOS quite a while ago and immediately knew that I wanted to write a review on it but I never actually got around to writing one. So even though I know I’m incredibly late to join the bandwagon, here we go!

Firstly, John Green is simply a genius.
I actually first discovered John on YouTube and loved his videos so I was keen to read his books when I realised he was an author.
Although TFIOS is classified as young adult fiction, I think adults would get just as much out of the story and fall in love with it as much as all the love-crazed teenagers are. John writes so eloquently and the characters he creates in TFIOS are oh so loveable.

Secondly, this novel is a tearjerker.
I very, very rarely cry reading novels. I think the only other time I…

Baking Time!

Hello my internet friends!

Tying in with my post about my health kick, I thought I would post a recipe for a change. I first made this recipe in grade eight home economics class and I remembered it recently and decided to make it for a second time today.

This is my recipe for CARROT AND ZUCCHINI MUFFINS :)
